Sneakers, booties, moccasins, derbies or sandals...the models marketed by Besson Chaussures in all categories are designed to offer their wearers a pleasant, comfortable fit. However, some products stand out from the standard range thanks to technical and formal features designed to meet specific needs and requirements linked to foot morphology or particular physical sensitivities.
These “comfort” shoes are of interest to women with chronic or occasional foot weakness caused by wear, deformation, fatigue or pathology, manifesting as discomfort or pain in the bones (hallux valgus), tendons (heels), skin (blisters), joints (ankles) or feet (flat feet). Others opt for this type of shoe to support the efforts required by long walks, or to better withstand difficult standing postures, for example for those who, for several hours at a time, do not always have the opportunity to sit down at work.
The comfort shoes showcased in the Besson Chaussures e-shop have a wide range of features. These qualities are sometimes combined with each other, but above all they do not overlook aesthetics, a criterion that is always decisive in the eyes of women, whatever the type of model they are looking for to satisfy their desires of the moment or to adapt to the trends and temperatures of each season.
These shoes are generally made of a flexible, lightweight structure to avoid compressing the foot and fragile toes. Leather, a supple, breathable material appreciated for its resistance to bending, its malleability and its permeability to water vapor (ideal for facilitating evapotranspiration), is often de rigueur and, in addition to its technical advantages, enjoys indisputable prestige compared to other materials deemed less noble and precious.
In other circumstances, a certain degree of rigidity is necessary to relieve certain sensitive points, such as sore ankles, for which it is advisable to limit movement (without blocking them, of course!) by ensuring a certain stability, minimal adjustment and good support.
A padded inner lining ensures optimum comfort and enhances the protection of certain vulnerable areas: toes, heel, ankle. Manufacturers are careful to avoid protruding seams on the instep to reduce the risk of rubbing against the upper, a potential cause of skin injuries.
A wide shoe is particularly recommended for women with hallus valgus (one in four is thought to be affected): this is a deviation of the first metatarsal, the bone extended by the big toe. This abnormality deforms the foot, creating a bump - or bunion - on the inside edge of the foot that clashes with the envelope of the shoe.
Inner and outer soles are of course key factors in the comfort of your sports or city shoes: flat or slightly raised models ensure a more even distribution of the loads exerted by the body's weight on both feet.
A cushioned sole absorbs shock, protects joints and provides excellent arch support. In your sneaker or moccasin, an anatomically-designed sole hugs the natural morphology of the foot, providing a tailor-made footbed. A leather interior remains the best solution for good ventilation, complemented on some shoes by ventilation channels integrated into the material.
Last but not least, the upper of some models features a curved middle section and/or a buttress at the back for a secure fit. At the front of the shoe, at instep level, a flexible toe reduces pressure on the toes.
You'll find a wide range of comfort shoes in the Besson Chaussures boutique, from leather ballerinas with wedge soles to babies on a small, slightly raised heel, as well as city sneakers with Velcro straps, moccasins and sandals.
