Women's sneakers

The French language, never stingy with exceptions, is accustomed to using the terms “baskets” (high-top sneakers) and “tennis shoes” (low-top sneakers) to refer to what Anglo-Saxons encompass in a single expression: “sneakers”. The word, derived from the verb “to sneak”, is a direct reference to the rubber soles with which these models are equipped, a material that had - and still has - the property of muffling the sound of footsteps on the ground. Nevertheless, the American term eventually made its way across the ocean to France, where it is now increasingly used to describe sports shoes used for purposes other than physical activity.

Hip-hop reminiscences

Today, sneakers have a cultural dimension that is largely due to their adoption by the hip-hop movement in the early 1980s: a veritable fashion phenomenon, amplified by major sports brands and haute couture labels, sneakers were flaunted in the world spotlight by rap groups such as the Run DMC trio, who wore them with their laces undone, combined with their typically urban outfits of hoodies and oversized jeans. At the same time, the world of professional basketball was not to be outdone: in 1984, Michael Jordan's sponsor launched a pair in the colors of the Chicago Bulls, the club where the future NBA champion played: the Air Jordan One was a triumph with young people and completed the popularization of sneakers on the international market, a consecration that paradoxically took them out of the purely sporting sphere to be erected, from the 2000s onwards, as a symbol of the “streetwear” trend.

While sneakers have become as popular on the street as they are on the sports field, they also appeal almost equally to men and women. Besson Chaussures has long been aware of this fact, and offers a wide collection of sneakers and tennis shoes dedicated to teenagers and ladies to meet growing demand: low-cut sneakers like the multicolored D. Franklin models, with their pop allure and phylon sole renowned for its ability to absorb shock in its air layers. Low-cut, too, for Puma's X Ray Lite sneakers, a real headliner for the Panther brand, thanks in particular to its innovative, ultra-soft SoftFoam + insoles. We also like the white velcro sneakers by Le Temps des Cerises, the Mustang sneakers with breathable canvas lining, and the navy blue zipped sneakers by Marco Tozzi...

The ultimate streetwear signature

We're also talking about Skechers women's sports shoes, Benetton's colorful compositions, Ellesse and Fila running shoes, and Tamaris wedge sneakers. Another revolution on the feet of fashionistas: Dad shoes, XXL sneakers that break codes by emphasizing the nostalgic, vintage effect of the '80s and '90s, the era of crudely kitsch shoes worn by “dads”.

More traditional, the high-top models in black, beige or multicolored, will wrap your ankles in a comfortable, warm and flexible case, complete for the winter ranges with a circle of fur, ideal for coping with cold and splashes.

The sneaker and tennis shoe collections marketed by Besson Chaussures bring together creations specially designed for physical exercise (runners) and more versatile products for everyday, urban use to complete a streelook in which sneakers are the centerpiece: they add the finishing touch to your swag outfits, tracksuits and leggings, hoodies, tank tops, carrot pants, sweater dresses, short skirts in faded denim....
